Brighton and Hove Albion have reached an agreement with VfB Stuttgart over a proposed deal to sign Nicolas Gonzalez, according to . The Seagulls are now set to break their club record by paying a fee of £25 million for the services of the 23-year-old forward.
Gonzalez started his professional career with Argentine side Argentinos Juniors, where he earned promotion to the first team in 2016 and moved to the Mercedes-Benz Arena two years later. Since then, he s gone on to represent the German club on 79 occasions in all competitions, scoring 23 goals and producing 10 assists. He endured an extremely torrid 2020-21, with various knee and muscle fibre issues keeping him out of action for large spells of the campaign.
